I Finaly Got A Different Truck!

For better or worse I was able to talk myself into a 2000 Volvo. Now I just have to go get my stuff out of my old truck that is still at the repair shop in Missouri tonight. Truck needs alot of cleaning and a drivers side arm rest but other than that, I think I will be in good shape. It is even a double sleeper!

You had to fight for a 2000 Volvo??? How many miles are on it 800,000 plus? They must run them into the ground. Does DeBoer pay breakdown pay without a fight? It seems it would make more sense to trade trucks every 3-4 years and not have so many maint. issues. What do they do with the newer trucks leave em in the yard & look at them?

Do you know what their driver turnover rate is? Sound like a decent Co. as far as miles and running area but the equip. seems questionable.

BTW thanks for the blog

Hi Cheesehead1, Yea, I had to fight to get a 2000 Volvo, LOL. Kinda sad huh? The truck has 715,000+ on it. And you are correct that they should be changing out trucks more often than they do. Most major (read larger) companies trade their trucks in on a 3-5 year/500,000 mile ratio, which ever comes first. Deboer I think is still learning the point of diminished returns as far as trucks go.

The Companies driver turnover rate is one of the lowest in the industry at approx. 68% last I heard, But I havent checked that figuare in almost a year now.
